Incorporated 1962

Occupying 7 square miles between Petaluma and Santa Rosa, Rohnert Park was laid out in the 1950s and incorporated in 1962. This centrally-located Sonoma County community enjoys a population of nearly 50,000, and was one of the first planned communities nationwide.

Conveniently organized into sections based on the first names of the streets (i.e., Maria Way is in M section), Rohnert Park makes getting around town easy. The area is super-family-friendly and offers a wide variety of kids-oriented activities to keep children/adults of all ages engaged and intrigued. Driven Raceway is a fun destination with competition-level electric karts, a mini golf course, mini bowling alley, video games and the Hot Rod Café. Spend an afternoon at Cal Skate Roller Blading and Skating Center, Double Decker Lanes for bowling, or Scandia Family Fun Center equipped with miniature golf, bumper boats, batting cages and other activities.

If you love the outdoors, the 128-acre Crane Creek Regional Park is a peaceful, sprawling retreat with plenty for all to do, from picnicking to biking, horseback riding, bird watching, even playing a game on the 18-hole disc golf course. Arts and music lovers are minutes from the new Donald and Maureen Green Music Center, set on the picturesque campus of Sonoma State University. This world-class performing arts complex features a music education wing and multiple performance venues, the prize of which is the 1,400-seat Joan and Sanford I. Weill Hall concert venue with outstanding acoustics, and a rear wall that fully opens out to a beautiful lawn in summer.
